Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of our favourite spots for a bachelorette or simply a girls getaway. Here’s our favourite things to do in Ontario capital of wine (in no particular order!).

1. Winery Tours
The majority of the larger wineries in the Niagara-on-the-Lake region offer tours. For a bachelorette, you can even book a private tour at larger wineries such as Jackson-Triggs, Peller Estate and Chateau de Charmes. The average tour cost is $5-10 per person.

2. Wine Tastings
Nearly all wineries in the region offer tastings. Prices vary from winery but typically range from $1-$5 (ice wine is at the latter end). Some wineries offer flights of tastings, such as $7 for four tastings. It’s a great way to sample from a variety of wineries (and the ounces do all up!). Plus many wineries will omit the tasting cost with the purchase of a bottle.

3. Wine Pairings
You can take a simple one hour tasting seminar, such as Chicks and Chocolate at Peller Estates or reserve a full dining experience with pairings offered by numerous wineries, such as Savour The Sights at Jackson Triggs.

4. Afternoon Tea
If you need a break from all that wine, indulge in an afternoon of tea. Our pick is the Afternoon Tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel ($35 per person)
5. Spa Day
Niagara-on-the-Lake has no shortage of spas. Set up a girls day filled with massages, facials, and sauna. We recommend Pillar and Post or combine hit spa day with a shopping spree at White Oaks located right next to Outlet Collection at Niagara.
6. Seasonal Events
Depending on the time of your visit, there can be an exciting festival or wine evening in the region. Drop by the Niagara Ice Wine Festival during. Summer events are numerous, such as Food Trucks in the Vineyard by Coyote’s Run, Picnic in the Vineyard at Cattail Creek, and Summer Concert Series at Jackson Triggs.
Check out the Niagara-on-the-Lake tourism website for more information on events, accommodations, and wineries. The possibilities are endless!
