In today's Real Wedding segment, we share details from A&G's Parry Sound camp wedding (featured on Weddingbells). The couple’s wedding festivities took place during Labour Day weekend 2015, with the wedding itself on September 5. Approximately 100 guests spent the weekend soaking up the sun and enjoying the camp grounds during the last long weekend of summer.

About The Ceremony
The couple said “I do” in front of the camp’s large tree. The scenic background spoke for itself as the sun glistened on the water. Guests sat on camp benches and the bridal party watched on during this special ceremony. Highlights included personal officiating by the bride’s uncle, a lit candle in memory of the bride’s mother, and a reading from the ever-sentimental film, “The Wedding Singer”.

About The Reception
Large wooden tables, gold chivari chairs, grey tablecloths and burlap runners helped transform the camp’s dining room into a reception hall. The couple personalized the room with hand-painted mason jars, photos of their parents on the mantle, and place cards with messages for each guest. Guests dined on a decadent three course meal (including dessert from the Pie Bar!).

Special Touches
-A beautiful First Look with the bride and her father and brother.
-The bride wore her mother’s wedding dress, beautifully altered.
-The bride’s family hand-made crackers as favours; replicating ones the bride’s mom used to make every Christmas.
-The groom initially decided on no mother-son dance, but when put on the spot by his brother, a spontaneous dance occurred.

P.S. Eventful’s Planning
P.S. Eventful provided Full Planning Destination Wedding services for A&G to bring their wedding vision to life. What began as a hunt for a downtown Toronto venue turned into a Parry Sound celebration when the bride discovered she and her now husband could get married at her former summer camp (she spent many years there both as a camper and then counselor!).

Throughout a year of planning, we had three site visits to Camp Tapawingo, several in-person meetings (décor ideas, rental visits, vendor meetings, etc.) and countless e-mail exchanges. We successfully helped the couple stay within budget, designed a wedding storyboard with their vision, and created a comprehensive itinerary.

During the wedding weekend, we set-up the dining hall, cued the ceremony/reception, worked alongside all vendors to ensure the day was running on time, and much more! It was a memorable three days and an incredible experience to see our planning come to life. We couldn’t be happier for A&G and are thrilled to have played a part in giving them the wedding of their dreams.

Review from the Couple:
“My husband and I are so happy we chose PS Eventful to bring our wedding vision to life! It is hard to put in to words just how much Poonam helped us and what a pleasure it was to work with her. Poonam is exceptionally professional, creative, punctual, compassionate, calm, and above all an extremely talented wedding planner and all-around wonderful person. I was very impressed with her design sense and her knowledge of the wedding industry. My husband especially appreciated Poonam’s attention to budget and ability to work within our means to create the wedding of our dreams. One of our vendors, who has been in the industry for 30 years, commented that Poonam was the best wedding planner she had ever worked with. Poonam is friendly and has a great sense of humour. Her positive attitude and encouragement were so appreciated by both me and my husband. Poonam was a calming influence throughout the planning process. I anticipated that I wouldn’t be able to sleep the night before my wedding, but in fact I slept well because anytime I started to worry about something, I remembered that Poonam would be there the next day to make sure everything ran smoothly. And it did! I can truly say that my husband and I had the best day of our lives and we were genuinely able to enjoy ourselves knowing that all the details were being taken care of. It was great knowing that Poonam would handle everything so that none of the tasks fell on our family or friends-we wanted to make sure all of our guests could enjoy the event to its fullest! I am so incredibly happy with how our wedding day turned out and am so thankful to Poonam for taking care of all the details so that my husband and I could really be present and enjoy the many special moments throughout the day. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Poonam! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND her to anybody planning their wedding!”
