In today’s Real Wedding segment, we feature V & A’s wedding which was the very first one at Footprints Resort in Bancroft, Ontario on June 18, 2016. P.S. Eventful provided Full Destination Wedding Planning services to the couple. The majority of the wedding was planned via Skype as this Canadian bride and English groom were busy teaching in Korea. (In fact, they didn’t even see the venue until exactly one month before tying the knot!). Approximately 40 guests spent the weekend experiencing the great Canadian outdoors while celebrating the couple.

About The Ceremony
The couple said “I do” on the deck which sat in front of the resort’s private lake. Highlights included hand-written vows, home-made brooch bouquets by the bride, and the couple meeting down the steps and walking down the aisle together.

About The Reception
The resort’s dome (a blank canvas) was transformed into a wedding reception thanks to personal DIY touches by the couple including lace curtains, Chinese lanterns, picnic benches, and table cloths turned runners. Guests feasted family style on a Southern BBQ meal and were entertained by heart-felt speeches, fun games, and live entertainment.

Formal photos
The couple and bridal party shot some stunning photos in Bancroft’s Eagles Nest.

Special Touches
-V & A shared an intimate First Look on the resort grounds prior to the ceremony.
-The couple shared their First Dance in the resort’s darkness as guests lit the area with sparklers.
-A late night sweet table and poutine station ended the evening outside.
-The resort grounds made for some beautiful photo opportunities, including the bride getting her make up done outdoors.

Weekend Fun
Guests enjoyed Footprints Resort all weekend long, including the resort’s tiki bar, private lake, many BBQ’s and firepits, and of course the all around natural environment.

P.S. Eventful’s Planning
P.S. Eventful worked with V & A a year before their wedding via many Skype meetings. The couple described wishing to give the majority of their international guests a “great outdoors Canadian experience” and the bride stumbled across Footprints Resort. The wedding was a great planning challenge and accomplishment since it was the very first on the property. There was no template to follow, no existing floor plan, no photos of past weddings for inspiration, and the of course couple lived on the opposite end of the globe. Through listening to the couples’ needs, working with amazing vendors, and having a detailed schedule, the weekend went off without a hitch (and without much sleep!)

Note from the Couple:
“Poonam was fantastic throughout the wedding planning process and the event itself. We could not have done it without her as she helped us have the most perfect of wedding days. Her expertise and ideas were great, and the effort she gave was amazing, we couldn’t be more thankful. She was incredibly reliable, professional and willing to go the extra mile to deliver the best event possible.”
